Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use this website, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained for the purpose of responding. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads:

  • Your device's IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system and device category
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent
  • The referring website, when one is reported
  • The date and time of each request

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and our analytics services help combine traffic data, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block cookies, though doing so may change how parts of the website work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operating, securing, and improving website performance
  • Routing a search to the provider that handles it
  • Measuring which content visitors use
  • Finding and repairing technical faults
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material identifies where Daggett County records may be requested from the Sheriff, Utah Courts, the Utah Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a file about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and disclosure practices govern information submitted to those tools. We cannot control those choices, so review the provider's policy before entering a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Daggett County Sheriff, Utah Courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy terms apply. Check them before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to:

  • A search provider that processes a query
  • Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
  • Advertising networks serving material on the pages
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee complete security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, we will remove it after notice.

Your Data Rights

Your location may provide additional privacy or consumer rights. Utah government records are classified and disclosed under the Government Records Access and Management Act, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2, while BCI criminal-history dissemination is governed by Utah Code § 53-10-108. Those laws govern public agencies and do not turn this private website into a government records office. You may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal information we retain about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete personal information when applicable
  • Honor an available opt-out right for certain processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A replacement takes effect when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
